The Makeup Show Week - MUFE Event

So, if you have been reading my posts thus far you know that Monday was a rough morning for me. But, I pulled it together and it ended up being the best day of my entire trip to NYC. Let me give you a little backstory (I love backstory - LOL). I was leaving the show on Sunday. I decided to stop by Duane Read to pick up a few things and then hop back on the train to my hotel. Well, who do I see as I'm making my way to the intersection???? DANY SANZ! For those who don't know, and I can't imagine that could be many of you, Dany Sanz is the creator of the cosmetic line Makeup Forever.

The Makeup Show Week - Fly Beauty Lounge Event

Beauty Blogger Erin, from Scandalous Beauty, held a networking event for makeup artists, bloggers, photographers, and anyone in the beauty industry. The event took place on Saturday, May 15, the day before the Makeup Show began. It was held at Taj II lounge in Chelsea and was co-hosted by makeup artist Warren Beautiful. They hosted the first Fly Beauty Lounge a few months ago in DC and it was such a success they decided to host another. If I'm not mistaken, Erin and Warren are planning to host Fly Beauty Lounges throughout the country.

The Makeup Show Week - Day 2

DAY 2 2. I had such a rough morning. My legs started cramping late at night so I woke up tired, sore and I wasn't at all rested. Because I hadn't slept I wasn't feeling that great and I had a headache. I was dragging and I ended up missing The Bulletproof Bride: Durable Bridal Makeup Kevin James Bennett for Make Up For Ever . This seminar was the main one I wanted to catch at the show because I was doing a friend's makeup for her wedding (which I found out today won't be needed). So I wasn't in a good mood. Long story short, I spoke to my mother and decided that it was up to me to make the best of my time in NYC because it would be over before I knew it. I took a deep breath and decided to collect myself before I went to the show.

The Makeup Show Week - Day 1

Hey everyone! Last week I flew out to New York to attend The Makeup Show. For those that don't know, The Makeup Show is a pro event held every year by The Powder Group. There are makeup artists from across the country, and the world, who come together to network, to browse brands and products and to learn. You can learn a little more about it on their site.

There are seminars and workshops lead by some of the best in their fields. It was particularly great for me because I got to meet tons of beauty bloggers. Some of the bloggers I have known from beauty forums over the years, some through twitter and yet there were some to whom I'd only been introduced through the show.

I am devoting this entire week to my trip to The Makeup Show. I have A LOT to share, including my haul, my walk through SoHo, an event I attended at The Makeup Forever store (where I met Dany Sanz) and TONS of pictures. So let's get started!

Faces From Aziajs on Facebook

I now have another way to connect to you - Facebook. I recently created a Facebook page and I'd love for you to check it out. I have photo albums containing my FOTDs & Face Charts as well as pics from past tutorials. You can also view some of my tutorials and check out my blog posts. It's a really cool way to combine all of the content I've created in one place. You can find it here:

Product Spotlight: E.L.F. at Target

I remember having a conversation a couple years ago with my uncle's then girlfriend about makeup. She mentioned that she loved E.L.F, especially since all the products were $1. I politely smiled and nodded. I had heard of E.L.F. but I would never use it....I mean it was a dollar. I thought it was cute and novel but really meant for people who really weren't into makeup or knew anything about it. It would never compare to MAC or NARS, two of my then favorites. So, I avoided the brand. However, I read in the blog world that it was coming to Target and I had been hearing more and more about some of the great products from the brand. I'd also read that there was an expanded Studio line that was a step up in price and quality.
